Rodney Crevcoure, age 89, of Green Bay died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Parkview Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center. Rodney was born in Green Bay July 27, 1923, the son of the late Joseph M. and Mae B. (Fortier) Crevcoure. He graduated from West High School. After 1 1/2 years at St. Norbert College, he enlisted in the U.S. Army
. Rodney was assigned to the 103rd Infantry Division and served his country during World War II
. Rodney went to work for his father at the Green Bay Planing Mill after graduation from Michigan State University
Rodney married Dorothy Goggins, October 8, 1949 at the Cathedral in Green Bay.
Rodney was a director of the Wisconsin Retail Lumberman's Association. He was elected treasurer of St. Jude Parish when the church was founded. He enjoyed 15 years on the Green Bay Park Board and 3 years on the Plan Commission.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, his 7 children Susan (Joseph) Wolters, Venice, FL; Mary Jorgensen, Madison, WI; Steve (Lynn) Crevcoure, Grafton, WI; Anne (William) Tucker, Moneta, VA; Jean (Scott) Tweedale, De Pere, WI; Renee Crevcoure, De Pere, WI; and Paul Crevcoure, Green Bay, WI, 10 grandchildren Matt and Jenny Wolters; Kate Jorgensen, Sam (Sara) Jorgensen and Lee Jorgensen; Nick, David and Kevin Crevcoure; Holly and Max Tweedale, 5 great-grandchildren Jordan Wolters and McKenna Hoopingarner-Tweedale, Amelia, Nora and Julia Jorgensen and a sister, Sister Joan Crevcoure of the Maryknoll Order.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Dorothy.
Gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 9 A.M. until time of mass at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Drive. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 A.M. at the church with Fr. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Hansen Family Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rod's family is deeply grateful to Parkview Manor for the compassionate care he received for the past 16 months and to Unity Hospice for making his last days comfortable.
