Roger M. Van Court, 89, Green Bay, died Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was born February 23, 1924 in Hermansville, MI, to Michael and Lucy (Frisque) Van Court.
Roger served in the U.S. Navy
from December 12, 1942 to October 25, 1945, where he was assigned to the USS Crouter and the USS Levy in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. On February 19, 1949 Roger married Joyce Hemminger at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marinette, WI. He was employed as a Branch Manager with Buckeye Gas Products Co./Ferrell Gas, retiring in 1986. Roger was a member of St. Paul Lutheran, and was a man with a very strong faith. He loved camping at Wells Park in Cedar River and when they weren't there, they often spent weekends at the family cottage. He loved being with his family. Roger was a dedicated Packers fan and season ticket holder.
Roger is survived by his wife, Joyce; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Virginia Van Court; daughter, Susan Hokenson; four grandchildren, Michael Hokenson, Laura (Tracy) Paulette, Nolan (Jennifer) Van Court; Christie Van Court; four great-grandchildren, Haven, Rebecca, Rowan, Shae; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Annette Anderson, Arlene (Clem) Bintz, Leora Delgoffe, Helen Campbell, Joan (Don) Strojny. Anita Hemminger, Rodney (Jewell) Hemminger; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Florence (Vincent) Eade, Stella (Wesley) Pearson, Ellen (Robert) Koehn, Clemence (Edward) Klatt, Reubena Van Court; one brother, Floyd (Pearl) Van Court; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Elvira (Lloyd) Vieth, Delores Hemminger, George Hemminger, Jack Anderson, Robert Delgoffe, and Henry Campbell.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev.
