Ronald "Ron" Ellingson, 69, Forestville, passed away on Jan. 1, 2012, in Green Bay, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 3, 1942, in Flandreau, S.D., to Herman and Beverly (Davis) Ellingson. Ronald grew up and attended school in Rapid City, S.D., and graduated from high school in Scott's Bluff, Neb. , he moved to Milwaukee, where he met and later married Beverly Pfeiffer in Crivitz, Wis., on May 23, 1970. Ron worked as a shipfitter for Bay Ship Building and P.B.I. in Sturgeon Bay for over 25 years. He also worked as a general electrical contractor and was a certified master electrician. He was a proud father and grandfather and enjoyed dancing, rock n' roll music, hunting, archery, and especially spending time with family and friends. Ron also had a great appreciation for cars and built his own dune buggy. He was a very talented man who was able to build and fix anything.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Beverly; two children, Stacie (Nathan) Falk, Stoughton, Wis.; Steve (Katie) Ellingson, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Madelyn, Adam, Seth and Ethan Falk, Grace and Lilly Ellingson; mother, Beverly Perrine, Seattle, Wash.; stepmother, Alice Ellingson, St. Cloud, Minn.; eight siblings, Terril (Karen) Perrine, Seattle, Wash.; Michelle Tibke, Seattle, Wash.; David (Debbie) Ellingson, Ortonville, Minn.; Gary Ellingson, Minneapolis, Minn.; James Ellingson, Minneapolis, Minn.; Patricia (Roger) Jensen, St. Cloud, Minn.; Suzey Ellingson, St. Paul, Minn.; John (Wanda) Ellingson, Sauk Rapids, Minn.; in-laws, Lorraine Gerhart; Dottie (Jim) Erdmann; Jeanne Pfeiffer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Herman Ellingson; step-father, Walter Perrine; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Mickey Pfeiffer; brother-in-law, Adolph Gerhart.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. Saturday until time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
