DeMille, Russell J.
Russell James DeMille, Age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 16th, 2014 following a valiant battle with cancer. He was a native and lifelong resident of Green Bay. Russ was a loving husband of 48 years to his wife Nancy (Bauer) and a dedicated father to his two sons, John B. DeMille and Andrew R. DeMille (Julie), De Pere, WI. His time spent with his four grandchildren - Jacob and Lauren (Andy & Julie) & Joshua and Maxwell (John) - brought him great happiness.
Russ valued the education he received at St. Joseph Grade School (Green Bay), Green Bay West High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard 32nd Red Arrow Division from 1964-1969. Russell married the former Nancy Bauer on September 18th, 1965.
Russ enjoyed a long and accomplished career in the Real Estate Industry specializing in Commercial and Industrial development in the Green Bay area. Among his many achievements, Russ was a Past-president of the Ashwaubenon Business Association (1974-1978), Past President of the Green bay Board of Realtors, Past Vice-Chair of the Wisconsin Real Estate Examining Board, Founding board member of the N.E.W. He was an avid golfer, adventurous sailor, an accomplished fly fisherman and loved to sing whenever the spirit moved him. Russell was a caring man, reaching out to many in their time of need. Mostly, he will be remembered for his quips and wry sense of humor.
Russell is also survived by his sister Patricia Boettcher (Roger), sister-in-law Sandra DeMille, brother-in-law Edwin Basinski and many nieces and nephews. His devoted dog Eddie was a loving comfort to him, especially in his last weeks
