Rhodes, Sharon R.
We celebrate the eternal life of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Sharon R. Rhodes, who passed away on February 14, 2014 among family. Sharon was a devoted, loving and supportive wife and a kind and attentive mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to our happiness. Despite a short and painful illness, she remained cheerful and true to her sweet spirit to the end.
Sharon was born on May 20, 1944, daughter of the late Raymond and Raymonda (Delie) Hansen in Green Bay. On March 11, 1967 she married the love of her life, James W. Rhodes and they had three beautiful children; Rob, Todd and Jeff, whom she raised into wonderful men. Sharon was a firm believer in life is for fun; enjoy it. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Sherry was a sales clerk for Dolly Madison and retired after 15 years of employment and she also worked at U Bake for over six years. Sherry was a member of the Elks Club
#259 and the Moose Lodge #451. She also was involved with the Red Hatters and the Heavenly Hatters of Hope. Sherry enjoyed line dancing and was a member of the Western Dance Club. She loved to read and enjoyed winters in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jim; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rob and Cathy, Todd, and Jeff and Kim; two brothers, Don and Lynn Hansen and Jim Hansen; two grandchildren, Logyn and Kyler. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Judy Mayer and her brother-in-law, Ron Mayer.
In honor of Sharon's wishes, private services were held for the immediate family. Another one of Sharon's wishes was to have a celebration of her life. So please come and join family and friends in the celebration of her life at Legends/Swan Club, 875 Heritage Road, De Pere, on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 5:00 pm. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to Dr. Lynch and the Bellin Cancer Team for all of their loving care, compassion and dignity in taking care of our wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Also a special thank you to the staff at Unity Hospice for the care, kindness and understanding, especially Cathy, an unforgettable nurse.
