Shirley M. Sigl, 84, Green Bay, died Thursday, February 20, 2014, peacefully at home. She was born July 10, 1929, in Germfask, MI to Ted and Bernice (Chase) Ackley.

Shirley married Donald Sigl on May 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1982. She worked for Rosebush Encompass Child Care for 22 years. Shirley was a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church for the last seven years. Shirley was a 31 year member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #2037 of Green Bay, where she held five positions over the years except President. Shirley and Donald fostered eleven foster children in their home over several years. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her four children and their spouses, Linda Grunewald, Donald and Shelby Sigl, Kenneth and Diane Sigl, Debra Frey; grandchildren, Chad (Barbara) Zeller, Adam (Alisa) Habeck, Eric (Amanda) Kuntz, Nathan Sigl, Andrew Frey, Chantel Sigl, Matthew Frey, Nicolas Frey; great-grandchildren, Dan, Nick, and Aaron Howell, Colton Grunewald, Sierra Sigl; brother, Lester Ackley; sisters, Vivian Losey and June Brow; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ackley, Eileen Sigl, Blanche Sigl; brother-in-law, Henry Ketola; her very special friend, Bob Buckman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Friends may also call at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1350 Bond St. from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
