Randall, Sylvia (Paplham)

Sylvia (Paplham) Randall, 95, Hayden, Idaho, died on March 13, 2013. She was born to the late Etta (Baumgartner) and Jerry Papiham, Kewaunee, on January 29, 1918.

She attended. Kewaunee High School and graduated with the class of 1935. Sylvia married Arthur G. Randall and he survives her with two daughters & sons-in-law, Donna (Paul) Randall-Hagner, Albion, Michigan, Tracy (Brian) Lien, Liberty Twp., Ohio, two sons & daughters-in-law, Kent (Pam) Randall, Los Altos, California, Gary (Nancy) Randall, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Grandchildren Kelly Randall, Whitney (Matt) Danenhauer, Kate Hagner, Sarah Randall, Cory Lien & Justin Lien. An infant daughter, Cindy Ann, preceded Sylvia in death. Survivors are one sister, Viola Seidl, two sisters-in-law, June Paplham & Jean Randall. Preceding her in death are two brothers & one sister-in-law, Harvey (Evelyn) Paplham, Jerry A. Paplham, two brothers-in-law, Sylvester Seidl, & Donald Randall, her parents, Etta & Jerry Paplham, and her in-laws, Ann & Bill Randall.

During World War II, Sylvia joined the WACs and served in the European campaign as a cryptographer. Many years ago she donated her uniform to the Kewaunee Museum, where it is displayed with other military uniforms.

A memorial service with military rites will be held at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee, on Saturday, March 23rd. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., funeral at 11:00 a.m., with Deacon Robert Pribek, presiding. Burial at Kewaunee Riverview Cemetery with full military rites.
