Meves, Dr. Theodore F.
Dr. Theodore F. Meves, 88, Green Bay,WI, formerly of Brookfield, went to be with his Savior Wednesday, October 24, 2012. He was born in Milwaukee on January 27, 1924, to Theodore August and Ruth Theodora (Sieck) Meves. While training to become a physician, he met Virginia Lee Fuhrman and they married on August 16, 1947. He continued his training and military career during the Korean Conflict
, learning the specialty of anesthesiology. Shortly after his return, he and Virginia entered the Lutheran Medical Mission in Nigeria for two years. Once back in the United States, he practiced at Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital until his retirement in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two sons, Theodore James (Ann) Meves, Salinas, CA; Dr. Roderick (Catherine) Meves, Green Bay; two daughters, Adrienne Teri (Thomas) Noordewier , Essex , VT, Lenore (Mark) Fenton, Naperville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Patrick Meves, Margaret Meves, Heidi (Jeff) Lueck, Richard (Mallory) Meves, Daniel Meves, Stephanie Noordewier, Timothy Noordewier, Luisa Noordewier, Paula Noordewier, Amanda Fenton, T.J. Fenton; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Clara Lueck; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Myrna Meves, Wilma Replogle, Gerald (Donna) Furhman and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Meves, a sister-in-law, Ellen Meves and a brother-in-law, Fred Replogle.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1700 Cardinal Lane, Village of Howard. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Leonard Buelow officiating.
