Verna Delwiche(1917 - 2011)

Verna Delwiche, Maplewood, passed away at Golden Living Center - Dorchester, on Nov. 24, 2011, at the age of 94. Verna was born on Aug. 30, 1917, in Gardner, Wis., to Clarence and Emma (Alexander) Neuville. She married Wilmer Delwiche on June 15, 1938. They lived in Maplewood, Wis., where they raised nine children, farmed and operated Delwiche Orchards. Verna was a homemaker, mother and matriarch of her family, lifelong member of Holy Name of Mary Church, member of the Christian Mothers Altar Society and also served as the Sunshine Lady for the Forestville/Maplewood Senior Group for many years. She will always be remembered for her jokes, Belgian pies and homemade donuts. Verna always enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Scrabble, working crossword puzzles, and listening to Randy Travis.

Verna is survived by her children, James (Diane) Delwiche, Sturgeon Bay and Florida; Jeanine Albert, Green Bay; Mike (June) Delwiche, Sturgeon Bay; Carol (Rich) Osburn, Des Moines, Iowa; Lenore (John) Kohlbeck, Sturgeon Bay; Judy (Ken) Deprey, Luxemburg; Richard (Pam) Delwiche, Maplewood; Eileen (special friend, Bob Davis) Delwiche, Brussels; Darrel (Linda) Delwiche, Maplewood; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Bernice Meunier and Dolores Miller, both of Sturgeon Bay; one sister-in-law, Mary Jo Neuville; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Delwiche. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Anthony; one granddaughter, Laurie Delwiche; one brother, Gervase Neuville; two sisters, Genevieve (Al) Moore, Joanne (Rochus) Kerscher; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Gladys and Carl Tebon, Gordon and Ceil Hendricks, Raymond Meunier and Robert Miller.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood, with the Rev. Anthony Birdsall and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating.
