Sadowsky, Emily Rose

Emily Rose Sadowsky, 22, St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Green Bay, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born Oct. 16, 1989 in Green Bay to Paul and Carol (Walters) Sadowsky. Emily graduated from Bay Port High School in 2008 where she was very involved in the music program. She was in the State Honors Choir twice. She was selected as a member of The Sound of America National Choir and toured Europe in the summer of 2008.

Emily was a 2012 graduate of St. Norbert College with Bachelor Degrees in Vocal Performance and Psychology. She started her music career in Edina, MN at Music2Master as a vocal and piano instructor. Emily wished to spread her immense love of music by helping the lives of children by becoming a music therapist.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Howard and sang in the choir since she was in third grade. Emily loved spending time with her family, friends and her pets. Her infectious smile and generous personality will be engrained in our hearts forever.

Survivors include her parents, Paul and Carol Sadowsky; two sisters, Jessica Sadowsky, Elizabeth Sadowsky; her fiancé, Adam Weber and the entire Weber and Steiner families; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Kathleen Walters; paternal grandmother, Betty Sadowsky; aunts, Peggy Ochs, Susan Kovnesky, Carrie (Rich) Geib, Steve (Sally) Sadowsky, Danny (Sandy) Sadowsky, Jerry Walters, Alice (Bob) Champeau, June (Tom) Wojtkiewicz, Tom (Donna) Walters, Jim (Sue) Walters, Kathleen Steiner; numerous cousins and friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, John Sadowsky, three uncles, John Sadowsky, Pat Ochs, Richard Walters; aunts, Kathy Walters and a special great-aunt, Mary Ellen Duquaine.

Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., Village of Howard, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. Friends may also call at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. John Bergstadt officiating.

A memorial fund has been established in Emily's name to benefit children's music programs. Like Emily's smile, her generosity never ceased. It was her decision to donate life so others may live.

Emily was a smiler. She was as brilliant as a star. I hope she is shining down on us now. The news of her life on earth being shortened way too soon by a terrible accident has saddened me. It must be shaking the family members. My own problems seem so stupid now. We are sending hugs and warm wishes to Emily's family and we are grieving today upon hearing the news. We are glad she got to spend time with us on SOA, that she got to attend and excel at a great college. It is hard to accept this news. I met Emily on the SOA Europe trip and enjoyed her sweet personality so much. Singing with her was always such a joy. She truly loved others before herself and her quite smile was catching. We are very saddened and grief stricken by the news of Emily's passing. Although she is in a better place, those of us left in the wake of this loss are not only dumfounded, but full of feelings we cannot find words for. Emily was a wonderful budding young professional brimming with talent. She was a bright, enthusiastic, loyal and talented person who would spread joy to everyone who had contact with her.

She was a refreshingly familiar face around campus, and she never hesitated to say hello.
