Alice M. Porior

Alice M. Porior, 96, of Coleman, died peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born to the late John Peter and Helen (Stark) Zehren October 15, 1917 in Cream City, WI. Alice married Joseph M. Porior June 29, 1940 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Appleton. The couple raised eight children on a dairy farm near Klondike until retiring to the Rost Lake area. They were very active members of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Klondike and she was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Coleman. Joseph preceded her in death October 14, 1976. Surviving are eight children, John (Linda) Porior, Oshkosh; Donald (Carmen) Porior, Coos Bay, OR; Richard (Man-Li "Dori") Porior, DePere; Carl (Kathy) Porior, Pound; Helen (John) Steffel, Platte City, KS; Dennis (Barb) Porior, Escanaba, MI; Marie (Ron) Yanzer, La Crosse; Cheryl (Jim) Mayhew, Oregon, WI; 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one sister Irene Clark, Combined Locks and one brother Joseph Zehren, Cincinnati, OH. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, one son David Porior in 1941; one sister Helen Corso and one brother John Zehren. Relatives and friends may call at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 235 E. Main St., Coleman Sunday, February 16th from 4 - 8 P.M. There will be a 7 P.M. Wake Service. Visitation will continue Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Coleman from 10 A.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. with Father Celestine Byekwaso officiating. She will be placed to rest at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, Klondike. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established. Online condolences may be offered at rhodescharapata.com
