Alice R. Robley, age 72 of the Angelus Retirement Community in Clintonville, formerly of the Township of Navarino, Shawano County, passed away Tuesday evening September 4, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton.
Alice was born on May 4, 1940 as the daughter of the late Richard and Elsie (Beggs) Marble. She was raised in Dane County and later graduated from Monona Grove High School. Alice attended tech school in Madison for 2 years and was united in marriage to Elroy Robley on October 28, 1967 in Madison. The couple resided in the Town of Navarino their entire married life where Elroy and their daughter Jera ran Navarino Slopes. Alice frequently talked about the ski hill and how much she enjoyed spending time there with her family. Elroy preceded his wife in death on January 20, 2003. Alice then moved to Angelus in Clintonville where she loved to visit and enjoyed going to lunch with her friends. She was a current member of Ascension Lutheran Church in the Town of Navarino where she was a past Youth Director in her younger years. Alice also enjoyed dancing and as a young woman was a member of the YAK Dance Club in Madison. Her love of traveling took her to places such as Europe, Canada, the Gulf Coast, and Disney Land. Her other hobbies included singing, dinning out, snow & water skiing, and listening to Lawrence Welk.
Survivors include: Her Daughter: Jera (Matthew) Diederich, De Pere.
7 Grandchildren: Alexa Robley, James & Anthony Mitchell, Keith, Andrea, Reilly, and Levi Diederich, all of De Pere.
2 Sisters: Suzanne (Jim) Cosgrove & Kathleen (Robert) Cosgrove, all of Waupun.
A Brother: Bruce Marble, Middleton.
2 Sisters-in-Law: Alice (Jim) Mueller, Navarino & Gloria Marble, Madison.
Also many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elroy, a brother Jim, and a sister-in-law Carla Marble.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 8, 2012 at 2 PM at the Ascension Lutheran Church in the Town of Navarino with Rev. Jon Paquette officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery also in the Town of Navarino.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 PM Friday at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville and at the church on Saturday from 1 PM until the time of the services. Online condolences can be sent via www.eberhardtstevenson.com.
