Hansen, Anna E.

Anna E. Hansen, 94, Gillett, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 11, 2011, at Woodlands of Gillett.

Anna was born April 28, 1917, in Horicon, to the late Herman and Bertha (Boldt) Ottow. She was a 1935 graduate of Green Bay West High School.

On July 28, 1935, Anna married Irving P. Hansen at Bethel Lutheran Church, Green Bay. He preceded her in death Aug. 17, 2002. Anna was employed for 16 years at Elliot Glove Factory, Gillett.

Anna was a member of Faith United EV Lutheran Church, Town of Gillett. She was a member of the Ladies Aid for 49 years. Anna played the organ for 55 years at various churches including the former Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Gillett and Christ Lutheran Church, Hintz. She continued to play organ at the nursing home up until the time of her death. Anna attended the Over the Hill in Underhill Group lunches on Wednesdays. She was a member of the former Golden Agers Card Club, Gillett and also played cards in Oconto Falls. Anna baked and decorated hundreds of cakes for birthdays, weddings, and other occasions. She enjoyed sewing, canning, traveling, cooking and baking.

Anna is survived by her 10 children and spouses, Allen, Smithton Tasmania, Australia; Carol and Ken Lindow, Horicon; Kirt and Angie, Gillett; Vern, Kimberly; Gary and Diane, Gillett; Irving D. Jr and Carol, Green Bay; Gail "Sissy" and Albert Lumby, Horicon; Kevin and his fiancee, Cathy Ciarlette, Green Bay; Brian, Gillett; Dean and Barb, Shawano; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Erna Mainhardt, Gresham; Alice (Ronald) Nisk, Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Helen Heberling, Port Charlotte, Fla.; Laura Ottow, Oconto; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Hansen, West Allis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Anna was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lauren Hansen; one great-grandson, Justin Wrucke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert (Jeanette) Ottow, Herbert (Doris) Ottow; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Mainhardt, Jake Heberling, June Hansen, Darvin (Elva) Hansen, and Harvey (Marion) Hansen.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett 920-855-2144. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at Faith United EV Lutheran Church, Old U Road and Hwy. 22 West, Town of Gillett. Funeral Services Monday, July 18, 2011, at the church, with the Rev. John Laatsch officiating. Interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Gillett.

Anna's family would like to thank Dr. Maltinski and the staff of Woodlands of Gillett and Heartland Hospice.

Anna was a kind hearted and generous person who loved her family.
