McNamara, Arthur D.

Arthur D. McNamara "Mac", 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at a local care facility. He was born on January 14, 1923 in Green Bay to the late Arthur and Olive McNamara. Art was a West High graduate and then served his country during WWII in the Army Air Force as a pilot in the South Pacific. On July 30, 1966, he married Dorothy Moreaux. On his 90th birthday he proudly declared that "she was the best wife a man could ever have." They loved playing cribbage, socializing with friends, and traveling the back roads of Wisconsin and Southern Illinois. He worked at Sinclair Refinery for many years and Peterson Shipbuilders in Sturgeon Bay until his retirement. Art was a fun loving Irishman who enjoyed telling jokes, making people laugh and was always the life of the party. He appreciated an ice-cold beer and loved the company of his canine friends. He was active in the community as a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge. Art was a proud father to his three daughters and will be greatly missed by them.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Green Bay; daughters, Sandra Paye, Schofield; Cheri (Joe) Hoida, Green Bay; Susan (Eric) Schmitz, Allouez; step-son, Donald (Jean) Moreaux, Roswell, GA; grandchildren, Steven (Nicole) Paye, Jason (Kristine) Hoida, Jessica Hoida, Scott (special friend, Shari) Paye; Brett (Mary) Paye, Paul Moreaux; great grandchildren, Hanna Hoida, Ella Hoida, Joey Hoida and Emilee Paye; sister, Nancy (Richard) Shaw, Winterhaven, FL; sister-in-law, Verona McNamara, Green Bay; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria; brothers and sister-in-law, Glen (Matilda) McNamara and John McNamara; sons-in-law, Butch Paye and Peter Fink and many other nieces, nephews and relatives.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Sunday (TODAY) from 12noon to 2 p.m. Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Malme officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
