Blumer, Brent E.
Brent E. Blumer, 63, Green Bay, passed away at home Wednesday, March 20, 2013 after a long illness. He was born February 9, 1950 in Coleman to the late Clarence and Marjorie (Harley) Blumer. Brent graduated from Lena High School with the class of 1968. He then went on to study at Green Bay Vocational College, where he graduated with an associate's degree in computer science. Brent started his career at Data Inc. and Good Humor; he then retired from Stratagem due to illness. In 1986 he married Marianne Watson (Beaumier). They divorced 15 years later, but reconciled in May of 2011 when she became his best-friend, caregiver, and confidante.
Brent was a Corvette enthusiast; he would rebuild and restore corvettes from the frame up. His pride and joy were his 1966 Coupe and his 1967 Big Block Convertible. Brent was a long time member of Corvettes of the Bay and would attend Bloomington Gold (the world's largest corvette show.)
Survivors include his special friend, Marianne Watson; step-daughter, Deanne Beaumier; brother-in-law, Jerry Watson; sister, Joanne M. Pittman; family friends: Lois, Mike (Diane), Doug, Chris, Jay Engels, Joyce and Dan Keyzer; his Stadium View friends and family; and his cat, Leelee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Gram Watson; special Doberman Sam; and Beagle, Patches.
The family is honoring Brent's wishes and having a private service. Burial will be in Coleman where he will be rejoined with his mother. Brent was one of the first members of Corvettes of the Bay.It's been a lot of years since we talked Vettes but he knew and loved his hobby and those of us who appreciate car guys and car talk have lost a friend and true Corvette encyclopedia. Marianne as the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. You and Brent had a special relationship, you each had someone to lean on in all situations. You just fit like matching gloves. Brent will be remember as a fun person to be around. Cribbage, corvettes and craziness, that's Brent. He will be missed by many. Take care and I will be thinking about you.
