Clara Vertz, 83, of Algoma passed away December 28, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born December 4, 1929 to the late Peter Sr. and Margaret(Rankin) Jauquet. On July 28, 1951 she married Lawrence "Mike" Vertz at St. Mary Catholic Church Namur. He preceded her in death July 26, 2007. Clara enjoyed sewing blankets and quilts, playing cards, and caring for her husband until he passed away.
Clara is survived by one brother Peter(Rita) Jauquet; one sister-in-law Verna Jauquet also nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Harvey Jauquet, two sisters Erma(Goldie) Bader, Doris(Harry) Wendricks and one sister-in-law Armilla Jauquet.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Algoma on Monday December 31, 2012 from 9-11a.m. with funeral Mass to follow at 11a.m. with Fr. Bill Switchenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home of Algoma is assisting the family. Online condolence messages may be shared at www.wiesnermassart.com.
