Haen, David Bernard
David Bernard Haen, 74, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012, in the comfort of his home with family and friends at his bedside.
He was born May 1, 1938, in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Hubert and Luella (Berns) Haen. David graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1956. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. After serving, David worked as an electronic radar telemetry technician for EG&G Special Projects in Las Vegas, NV, on top-secret Air Force programs. Over his course of employment, David advanced to Director of Site Support Operations. On August 3, 1985, David was united in marriage to Denise Cau in Las Vegas, NV.
David was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay. He served as Grand Knight of the Francisco Garces Knights of Columbus in Las Vegas and was also a member of the Roadrunners Internationale. David loved woodworking, alpine skiing, softball leagues, collecting beer steins, pistol shooting, and traveling.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Denise Cau Haen of Sturgeon Bay, WI; daughter, Deborah Haen and granddaughter Nicolle Haen-Carneado of Biloxi, MS, along with grandson, Christopher Haen of Las Vegas, NV; mother of his children, Mary Haen of Biloxi, MS; siblings, Carol (Ken) Schultz, Sally Lau, both of Sturgeon Bay, Polly (Robert) Westfall of Wauwatosa, WI, Gary (Janice) Haen of Sturgeon Bay, Mary Jane (Paul) Fisher of Greenbrier, AR, Linda Steshetz of Green Bay, WI, James Haen, Gordon (Gail) Haen, John (Karen) Haen all of Sturgeon Bay, Joan Roderick (fiancé, Christopher Boyer) of Green Bay; sister-in-law, Patricia Haen of Sturgeon Bay; mother-in-law, Simone Cau of Sturgeon Bay; many nieces nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Hubert and Luella Haen; son, Robert Haen; brother, Donald Haen; sister-in-law, Kathy Haen; two brothers-in-law, Jim Lau and Vern Ewaskowitz; father-in-law, Maurice Cau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (November 28, 2012) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Robert Konkol OFM as celebrant. Burial with military honors by the United States Navy and Amvets Post #51 will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the procession to church at 10:30 a.m. The Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m., and there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Door County YMCA, Door CANcer, St. John Bosco Catholic School, or to the National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas, NV.

Rob and I were sad to hear of Davey's passing. He was a special part of our EG&G lives so many years ago, and we know he will be sorely missed by Denise and his friends and family.
