David Francis "Snippers" Stodola

David F. Stodola, 76, Neenah, formerly of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Bridgewood Care Center, Neenah. David was born on March 3, 1938, in Kewaunee, son of Joseph and Mildred (Retzlaff) Stodola. David grew up in Kewaunee County and graduated from Luxemburg High School. David served in the United States Army for two years in the 101st Airborne Division where he parachuted thirteen times. He was united in marriage to Sandra Wingrove on June 18, 1988, in Green Bay. David retired from Super Valu Warehouse in 2000. He enjoyed camping, wintering in Florida, and time spent with his two dogs: Julius and Rudy. David also enjoyed singing in the Barber Shop choir for many years and in his earlier years he enjoyed fixing his cars and doing body work.

David is survived by his wife, Sandy and his children: Debra Nielsen, Green Bay; Daniel Stodola, Chandler, AZ; Amy Butterbrodt and Denise (Kevin) Adamczak, both of Green Bay; two step children: Jamie (Ken) Matthewson and Heather Hennske; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; the mother of his children: Shirley Drake; three sisters-in-law: Joan Stodola, Green Bay; Jan Stodola and Kathy Stodola, both of Denmark, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: Michael, Wayne, and Gerald Stodola.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at Nicolet Memorial Gardens, 2770 Bay Settlement Rd., Green Bay. Entombment will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday at the gardens from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. A memorial has been established in David's name.
