Edwin H. Drath

Edwin H. Drath, 88, of Abrams, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, with his family by his side, at Woodside Lutheran Home, Green Bay after a nine month battle with numerous medical issues.. Edwin was born January 28, 1926 to the late Edward and Henrieta (Pautzke) Drath. He married the love of his life Lois Jones on June 24, 1950 in Green Bay. They resided in Green Bay for forty four years and moved to Sobieski in 1994. Edwin and Lois enjoyed many years of extensive travel including visiting 48 states in their RV. They joined Bay Sammers RV Club in 1980. They enjoyed being snow-birds after his retirement in 1988 and lived in either Florida or California every winter, until this past winter, where illness kept him in Wisconsin, close to his family and loved ones. Edwin was a conductor on the Chicago & North Western Rail Road for forty one years. Edwin loved many hobbies with his favorite being playing the guitar. In his younger years he was lead guitarist in a country western band. He was a self taught mechanic and had always enjoyed working on anything that had a motor in his garage. He will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends for his kind and loving spirit and his many tales of his life and all the experiences he has had along the way. Everyone always enjoyed listening to Edwin tell the story of how he met his wife and soul mate of over sixty four years, and all the wonderful experiences they have enjoyed throughout the years.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Lois Drath, Sobieski; two daughters, Denise (Mark) Brefczynski, Sobieski; Pamela (Craig) Nicklas, Suamico; a brother-in-law, Roy Wallace, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Trisha DuChateau, Travis (Stephanie) DuChateau, Troy (Kristin) DuChateau, Trevor (fiancee Liz Gutowski) Drath, Dawn Nicklas, Derek Nicklas, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marian "Dolly" Wallace.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Calvary Lutheran Church, Abrams, from 9 AM to 12 Noon Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted12 Noon Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Andrew Degear officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at
