Peters, Ione L.
Ione L. Peters, 86, Green Bay, formerly of Popple River, Laona and Crandon, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Golden Living Nursing Home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Angelica, WI on October 25, 1926 to Harold and Irene (Vaness) Wilson.
Ione married Clarence Peters on January 27, 1945 at St. Leonard Catholic Church in Laona; he preceded her in death on October 7, 1984. She enjoyed the 13 years that she worked at the U.S. Forest Service in Laona. Ione also enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, spending time with her family and grandchildren and sitting in her lawn swing "people watching".
She is survived by daughters, Darlene Vanden Bush of Green Bay, Diane Groh (special friend, Bruce) of Plains, MT and Barbara Sikowski of Green Bay, sons, Calvin (Jeanie) Peters of Popple River, Duane (Carol) Peters of Montrose, CO, Melvin (JoAnn) Peters of Oconto Falls, Rick (Mary) Peters of Argonne and Clayton Peters of Delta, CO, 32 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, sister, Betty (Wesley) Sosinske of Oconto and brother, John Wilson of Gillett. Ione is further survived by other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Harold, husband, Clarence, infant son, Clarence B. Peters, Jr., granddaughter, April Lincoln, an infant sister and brothers, Lloyd and Alvie Wilson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home, Crandon with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Monday, October 21 from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Leonard Catholic Church, Laona. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Newald. Weber-Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.weberhillfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Golden Living, especially Wing 100, for the special care they gave their mom and also, a special thank you to Ione's granddaughter, Tara, for the extra help she gave recently.
