Copeland, Jack

Jack N. Copeland of Kewaunee passed away on April 20, 2013. He was born in Detroit, MI. on September 26, 1929 to Ruble and Jeanette Copeland. He grew up in Escanaba and Bark River, Ml. He joined the Navy in 1950 and served in the Korean War. He married Mary (Henrietta) Schmidt, McGraw February 26, 1960 and she preceded him in death November 11, 2006. They lived in Waukesha until 1992 when he retired from Waukesha Motors and moved to Kewaunee.

Jack loved his Brittany Spaniels. He hunted birds with his first Brittany, Smokey. He also loved to fish. He and Mary did a lot of traveling. He also enjoyed his time at the Senior Center in Kewaunee.

Jack was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Kewaunee.

He is survived by his step-daughter Virginia (Tom) Betts, Abrams, WI. His step-son William (Joan) McGraw, Lake Havasu City, AZ. His step-daughter-in-law Judy McGraw, Green Bay. His grandchildren Harvard (Naomi) Betts, William Betts, Michael McGraw, Mary Lee McGraw (Jerry Hancock), Mechelle (Dennis) Dominiczak, Kevin (Christina) Everard, Kim (Tim) Counihan , and many Great Grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his step-son Robert McGraw and his granddaughter Linda Betts

Friends may call at Buchanan Funeral Home, 1425 Ellis St. Kewaunee from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Fr. William Swichtenberg.
