Janet VandenLangenberg, 84, of Kelly Lake, Suring, WI, formerly of Green Bay passed away Friday, November 16, 2012. She was born July 10, 1928 in Humboldt, WI to the late Wenzel and Irene (Leurquin) Jaklin. She attended Washington Jr. High and East High School. During World War II she worked at Awning and Tent, making tents for the soldiers. Janet was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels and loved to waltz around the rink with her sweetheart. Jan was the President of the Bellevue VFW 9677 Ladies Auxiliary. She organized and was head cook for many dinners at the VFW. She and her crew made the best knee caps and broasted chicken. Janet served on the Ladies Auxiliary at Oconto Falls Community Hospital and was an active volunteer there. She sang in the choir at St. Wenceslaus Church in Klondike, was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and organized senior citizen dinners for many years and was currently a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Suring. She was a lifetime member of the Kelly Lake Sportsman's Club and a member of the Mulligan Crew.

Jan married Howard VandenLangenberg on June 21, 1947 at St. Philip Church in Green Bay and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Her special interests were bowling, cooking, playing cards, fishing, traveling, and above all caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Howard, one son, Randall, Suring; daughters, Teri Francois, Green Bay; Mary (Michael) Rasmussen, Townsend; Karen (Francis) Karchinski, Pulaski (who are triplets); Vicki (Robert) Wetli, Baldwin; and Toni (Jeffrey) Kubiak, Shawnee, KS. Jan was the best grandma ever to 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne Linssen, Denmark; her sisters and brothers in-law, Pearl VandenLangenberg, Suring; Eloise VanderKelen, Green Bay; Betty VandenLangenberg, Green Bay; Lorraine VandenLangenberg, Green Bay; Jane Jaklin, Green Bay; Eunice Jaklin, Green Bay; Arlene Jaklin, Two Rivers; Barb VandenLangenberg, Green Bay; Raphael and Ida VandenLangenberg, Green Bay; Ronnie and Jeannie VandenLangenberg, Green Bay; Arnie and Bernice Rentmeester, Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Clayton Jaklin, Two Rivers; Merlin Jaklin, Green Bay; Harley Jaklin and Al Jaklin, Merlin Linssen; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Ray and Rosella Lamal, Lorraine and Orland Nick, Lloyd VandenLangenberg, Marv VandenLangenberg, Kenny VandenLangenberg, Harvey VandenLangenberg, Bill VanderKelen. She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Alan Francois; and her grandson, James Karchinski; great grandson, Charles Julius James Howard.

Family and friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Monday, November 19 from 4 to 7 pm. Parish Wake Service 7pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, November 20 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Suring, WI from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev.
