Jerry David Colombo, 75, Sturgeon Bay, died Wednesday afternoon, March 21, 2012, at Woodside Nursing Home in Green Bay.

He was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Sturgeon Bay, the son of the late Jerome A. (Mary Margaret Polich) Colombo. Jerry graduated from Sevastopol High School. In addition to operating his farm, Jerry worked for Wisconsin Foods later Krier Preserving, and more recently Marine Travelift. He was married to Linda J. Lautenbach on Oct. 20, 1956 and she preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 1957. On May 29, 1965, he married Carol J. Bieri and she died on June 30, 1966. On May 8, 1970, he married Darlene C. Brandt and she preceded him in death on June 23, 1996.
Jerry was a lifelong member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute. He was a member of the Civil Service Commission and served as Sevastopol Town Supervisor for many years. Jerry also coached youth basketball and baseball for many years. He coached in Little League, Babe Ruth, and All Stars.
Survivors include his four children, Cari Schartner, Green Bay (and her children, Tia (Paul) DeLeers, Frank (special friend, Lindsey) Shartner), Dena (Randy) Schmidt, Sturgeon Bay (and their children, Derek Schopf, Tanner and Devin Schmidt), Cheri (Cary) Lauritzen, Pulaski (and their children, Bryan (special friend, Allison) Lauritzen, Brooke Lauritzen and Chris (fiance, Kelli) Taylor), Bart (Meagan) Colombo, Suamico (and their children, Aidan and Ayla Colombo); one great-grandson, William Frank DeLeers; one sister, Marion Peterson of Sturgeon Bay; many dear nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three wives; son-in-law, Frank Schartner (2003); one brother, Bill Colombo, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian (Willard) Bosman, Danica (Doug) Riemer, Geraldine (Norman) DeNamur; and brother-in-law, Joseph Peterson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute with Rev. Robert Konkol officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Sturgeon Bay.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at noon.
