John David Hoppock, 80, Pulaski and formerly of Antigo, died Saturday evening, April 20, 2013, at a Green Bay hospital with his family at his side. The son of Frank and Mildred (Larson) Hoppock was born March 1, 1933 in Rockford, IL. On June 6, 1953, he married Suzanne LaPlant at SS. Peter & Paul Church in Green Bay.
John retired from the United States Air Force after serving his country for 20 years, and from Master Gas in Antigo after 20 years of service. He was an exalted ruler of the Antigo Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. John was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed golfing and other sports.
In addition to his wife, Suzanne, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Deborah (Gee) Pope, Custer, Sandra (Mark) Proctor, Alabama, Elizabeth Seis, Antigo, Timothy (Stacy) Hoppock, Pulaski, Thomas (Mary Lynn) Hoppock, Pulaski, Laura (Dave) Low, Utah, and Jennifer (Linn) Kamin, South Dakota; his grandchildren, Grant (Andrea) Pope, Ty (Katie) Pope, Grey (fiancée Marcie) Pope, Gwenn Toler, Kimberly (Sean) Goodwin, Eric (fiancée Rachel) Seis, Kyle Seis, Cale Seis, Molly (Andres Ulises) Hoppock-Jaimes Martinez, Paige Hoppock, Alex Hoppock, Nick Hoppock, Brianna Hoppock, Natalie Low, Sam Hoppock, Sierra Kamin, and Sydney Kamin; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Zac Hoppock, a granddaughter, Katherine Low, and a brother and sister-in-law, Del (Carol) Hoppock.
Friends may call at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 124 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church, Fr. Brendan Wroblewski, O.F.M. presiding.
The family would like to thank Dr. Williams and the St. Vincent Hospital 6th Floor ICU for their dedicated and compassionate care. A special thank you is also extended to Devin, for the wonderful support he gave to John and his family in John's final moments.
