Lawrence William Raleigh, 91, Green Bay, passed away at a local nursing home on Sunday, May 6, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 20, 1920 in Green Bay to the late Albert and Cecelia (Gillis) Raleigh. Lawrence served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged. He married Ione Cornell on July 12, 1941 at St. Philip Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2011. Lawrence was employed as a metal smith at Badger Sheet Metal and retired in 1982.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; son, Patrick Raleigh; brothers, George, Walter and Robert Raleigh; sisters, Alice Wicker, Myrtle Heimke, Betty Wheeler, Barbara Raleigh; niece, Judy Rank.
Family and friends may call at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, East-Town location, 2379 East Mason St., on Thursday, May 10 from 4 until 7:00 p.m. Prayer service 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation continues on Friday from 10 until 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., Green Bay. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev.
