Parker, Carolyn "Lynn" Bowen

Lynn was a native of Green Bay, WI and a longtime resident of Bessemer, AL. She was a member of Hueytown UMC. Giving to others and volunteering was her life. Lynn gave her time and talents to Threads of Love, The and her Church. She retired from Bell South, was a former employee of the city of Green Bay, WI and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Lynn is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Parker, Jr.; father Richard Paska; and her brothers, Rick, Jim, and Jon. She is survived by her mother, Joyous (Carl) Bowen of Shawano, WI; her children, Dion (Shunya) Parker and Diona Parker Dickerson; her sisters, Colleen (Don) Black of Lexington, KY and Melissa (Mike) Schuler of Shawano, WI; brother, Jay (Lisa) Bowen of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren, Cody, Chelsea, Parker, Timothy, Matthew, Caleb, Kaleigh; and her great-granddaughter, Belle. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at Hueytown United Methodist church at 1:00 pm. Rev. Al Giese officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hueytown United Methodist Church or the in her memory.
