Boeckman, Marcella M.

Marcella M. Boeckman, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, died unexpectly on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, WI.

Marcella was born January 13, 1924 in Marinette, WI daughter of the late Goeffery and Ida Hebert. She graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, WI with the class of 1942. On May 10, 1952 she married John F. Boeckman, Jr. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1988.

Marcella was employed in the office of the Paragon Electric company. She served as a cafeteria assistant at Washington Junior High School and also a nurse's aide at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, WI. Marcella enjoyed many hobbies which included her passion for sewing, gardening, cooking and dancing. She was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Women's Auxillary of the Manitowoc Eagle's Club and Roger Street Fishing Village, Two Rivers, WI. Marcella especially loved playing the role of Mrs. Santa Claus and also loved spending time at her cottage in Little Sturgeon, WI. The role she played best was of a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include six children: Terrence Boeckman and special friend Charlotte Gustafson; Gary L. Boeckman; Geraldine (Terry) Gordon-Roble; Larry Boeckman; Mary (Mark) Schubring; Barry (Penny) Boeckman; eight grandchildren: Tanya Boeckman; Jessie (Amanda) Boeckman; Chad Boeckman; Garett Gordon and fiancé Kasia Brzeski; Bonnie (Todd) Gordon-Shelton; Danielle (Nicholas) Bolle; Zachary Boeckman; Amber Boeckman; eight great grandchildren; her sister Gertrude and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marcella was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Karbowski.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave.), Manitowoc, WI. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, WI from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
