Mariah L. Danforth-Moore, 19, Oneida, left this earth unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, as the result of a hit and run accident in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she was a sophomore at Hawaii Pacific University. Born on July 25, 1992, to her parents, Lisa Moore, Oneida and Stephen Danforth, Sr., Honolulu, began her spirited life. Mariah was a loving caring, tender hearted, special gift from God. She lived life to the fullest, and as she grew into a young woman she had an adventurous side and loved to travel the world.
Mariah was an Honors Graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 2010. She was active in the school band and was the Drum Major. A gifted athlete, she enjoyed tennis and was captain of her soccer team. She spent her summers working at Green Bay Converting, Cutco, and most recently worked at Victoria's Secret in Hawaii.
Known for her big smile and magnetic personality, she brought joy, generosity, love, and the willingness to always see the good in those she met on her path. To family, friends, and all those lives she touched, Mariah will continue to be a light shining in the distance which we all can walk toward, with the hope and faith we will meet again. May she rest in peace.
She is survived by her mumma, Lisa Moore (Mike Jourdan), her daddy, Stephen Danforth, Sr. (Abby McMurphy); brothers, Stephen Danforth, Jr., Green Bay; and Redmon Danforth III, Oneida; her sister, Courtney Danforth, Oneida; maternal grandparents Bonnie and Darryl Moore; paternal grandparents, Deborah and Charles Heckel, and Steve Danforth; as well as her great-grandmothers, Leatrice Powless and Erma Danforth. She is further survived by aunts, Sherry (Dan) Flauger, Stacie (Dennis) Danforth-Cutbank; and uncle, Shawn Moore; numerous cousins, and many special friends. Mariah will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her, especially her boyfriend, Nathan Manders.
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011. Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, Freedom Road, Oneida, until time of service. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with Father Rob Clarke officiating. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the Danforth-Moore families.

Mariah was a joy to work with at West De Pere High School. Always smiling and bringing joy to others. What a wonderful, pleasant person she was! I clearly remember the day she told me she was accepted to her Hawaiian University, so much relief and joy. Then the defeat of them telling her the financial aid was not done correctly...emails and phone calls helped clear the way to her smiles again! What a precious child you raised. She will be in my prayers today and always.

As a teacher you are not supposed to have favorites, however it was hard not to like Mariah. She was so positive in her approach and humble about her accomplishments. She would stop by after she had graduated and always was so appreciative of any help she had received. She was one of a kind and I am finding it very difficult to accept the fact that she is no longer with us. Know that Mariah was truly a good person and everyone at the high school shares in your grief. My deepest, deepest sympathies.

We never crossed paths with this beautiful young woman - yet we know of her spirit through our daughter who attends HPU with Mariah. Her impact on her friends and classmates was that of energy and life!. She was an integral member of the student "family" at HPU. She is so painfully missed by her HPU dorm mates . Our deepest and most sincere sympathy to the Danforth-Moore family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.

To Mariah's family and friends. I used to say to my students as they left class: Play well with others, make a positive difference in the world, always choose joy. Mariah lived those statements. Every image of her in my head is one when she is smiling. She is pure joy. She is a blessing. The loss of her is immeasurable. I am holding you all in prayer, Jane Johnson
