Marilyn P. Huenink, age 75, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Tucson, AZ due to complications from pneumonia following a knee replacement surgery.

Marilyn was born Sept 12, 1936 to Dr. Vern and Lodeska Pauley of Wichita, KS. She graduated from Wichita East High School in 1954. For two years, Marilyn attended the University of Oklahoma, then transferred to Colorado College, where she was affiliated with Delta Delta Delta sorority and graduated in 1958 with an Education degree.

On June 9, 1958, Marilyn married Dirk W. Huenink (Sheboygan, WI) in Wichita, KS. They moved to Sheboygan, WI and raised their three children, Dirk Jr, Mark, and Jan. In 1979, they moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI. Following the death of her husband, Dirk, in 1993, Marilyn returned to the Sheboygan area to be closer to her extended family.

On Jan 18, 2003, Marilyn married Charles Powers, a high school sweetheart, at St John the Baptist Church, Plymouth, WI. They made their homes in Sheboygan Falls, WI and Green Valley, AZ.

Marilyn took tremendous pride in raising her family and her role as a loving mother, wife and in later years, grandmother. She cherished holidays and special celebrations with family and friends. She was very artistic and had good eye for style, which was evident in everything she touched, from her home décor, to the way she dressed and the gifts she wrapped. Marilyn was a wonderful hostess and readily opened her home to all with a warm smile and genuine kindness. Her easy laugh, sense of humor, generosity and ability to put those around her at ease will always be remembered. Marilyn has passed her love of Florida beaches, seashells, birds, orchids and flowers, mountains, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and March Madness basketball to those around her. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband of nine years, Charles Powers; her sister, Geraldine (Jerry) Shipton of Westchester, IL; her sons, Dirk Jr. of Green Bay, WI and Mark (Gina) Huenink of Sheboygan, WI; her daughter, Jan (Kendrick) Ebbott of Plymouth, WI; six grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, and Ali Huenink of Sheboygan, WI , Sarah, Rebecca, and Cooper Ebbott of Plymouth, WI; plus many wonderful nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family and friends.

A Memorial Mass for Marilyn will be held at St John the Baptist Church in Plymouth, WI on Saturday, May 12th at 1:00 p.m. The Very Reverend Dennis Van Beek will be the officiant. Relatives and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Ballhorn Chapels is assisting the family.

We want to thank our relatives and friends for surrounding us with their love and support.
