Marjorie J. Heldmann

Marjorie Joyce Heldmann, 85, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Sept. 24, 2013. She was born on Nov. 23, 1927, to Fred and Leona (Maedke) Pavlick in Flint, Michigan. Her family moved back to Kohlberg in 1941. Marjorie graduated from Brussels High School in 1945. On April 13, 1948, she married Leonard "Chink" Heldmann at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood. Together they owned and operated Heldmann's Store in Maplewood for 33 years and then retired to Sturgeon Bay.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church and a past member of Holy Name of Mary Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Marjorie was active in bowling both in Sturgeon Bay and Algoma. She enjoyed attending and competing in many state tournaments. Her other hobbies included crocheting and counted cross stitching.

Survivors include 3 sons, Donald (Karin), Sturgeon Bay, David (Sheri),Tacoma, WA, and Dennis (Chris), Sturgeon Bay; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Heldmann-Watermolen, Daniel (Kari) Heldmann, Mathew (Tricia) Heldmann, Casey, Forrest, and Hannah Heldmann; step-granddaughter, Kiana Worley; 5 great-grandchildren, Anthony Watermolen, Landon, Carter, Haley, and Mason Heldmann; a brother-in-law, Wallace Englebert, Algoma; and a nephew, James Pavlick, Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Richard, her husband, a sister, Verna Englebert, 2 brothers, Cecil and Lloyd Pavlick.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Holy Name of Mary Church, Maplewood, Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Forbes Funeral Home and then after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of services. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. On-line condolences may be offered at
