Nancy l. Smithwick passed away on Tuesday, May 15, in San Diego, Calif., from leukemia. She had been a ten year survivor, until it finally took her life.

Nancy was born in Casco, Wis., to Richard C. and Vi Smithwick on May 3, 1952. She graduated from East De Pere High School and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, with an English degree, then went on to Bowling Green University of Ohio, for her master's degree. She taught English in China, for one year, then the University of California-San Diego and was now an editor at Cassis in English as a second language.
Nancy is survived by her mother and sisters, Julie and Cathy Smithwick, Ann Smithwick Morris and Constance Smithwick, her brother, Jack Smithwick and his wife, Nicole, many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard C., her brothers, Dick and David and brother-in-law, John Morris and infant brothers, John L. and Joseph Gerald and sister, Cathy Lynn.
The family is establishing a leukemia cancer fund in Nancy's honor, to the City of Hope, Los Angeles, Calif.
