Ryan J. Gronnert, 34, Wrightstown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday June 23, 2013. Ryan was born on June 10, 1979 in Green Bay, to Mary Gronnert-Kollross and the late Jerry Gronnert . He attended St. Bernard Catholic grade school and graduated from Preble High School in 1998. Ryan enlisted in the United States Navy in 1998, and served a tour of duty in Iraq. He was honorably discharged in 2006.

Upon return from active duty, Ryan started his own business, Ryan's Tile. Ryan continued his education attending classes at Rasmussen College, graduating in 2012. Currently, he was employed as a Project Manager at Schneider National, Inc. while pursuing his bachelor's degree.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Mary and Hank Kollross; one sister, Sarah (Raymond) Wilder and their daughters, Olivia and Sydney (godchild); one step-sister, Michelle (Brian) Peters and their children, Noah and Libby; one step-brother, Greg Kollross (special friend Ashley Baneck); paternal grandmother, Bernice Gronnert; his Godparents, Bernie and Pat Haen. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with friends too numerous to mention.

Along with his father Jerry Gronnert, he was also preceded by grandparents, Roderick Gronnert and Bernard and Angie Haen, an uncle, Jerry Falish and cousin, Todd Pritchard.

Family and friends may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., after 2:00 pm Friday June 28, 2013, until time of mass. Funeral mass 6:00 pm Friday at the church with Rev. Dan Viertel and Deacon Bill Burkel officiating. Full military honors to follow immediately after mass at the church. On-line condolences may be sent to Ryan's family at

A memorial fund has been established in Ryan's name to support local veteran's services.
