Phaklides, Sue (Lockard)
Sue (Lockard) Phaklides, 67, Green Bay, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Sue was born Feb. 12, 1946 in Kansas City, MO to William Wesley and Virginia Ellen (Enlow) Lockard. She grew up in Grandview, Missouri and graduated from Grandview High School in 1964. Sue married Sterling Phaklides of International Falls, MN in 1966. They built their home in Champlin, MN and had two children. They later divorced after 29 years. Sue retired from Ameriprise Auto & Home Insurance Company in 2011 where she worked for over 22 years.
Sue was a generous and loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved to spend time with her three grandchildren who were "the light" of her life. She also enjoyed traveling and cooking. Sue lived life to the fullest and had an incredible sense of humor. She was a wonderful friend to many and will be greatly missed. Sue was an example to all of us with her spunk and zest for life and she left the world a better place by being in our lives.
Survivors include her children, Sunny (Tim) Blakesley, Edina, MN; Sterling Phaklides (girlfriend Marnie Skibo), Green Bay; brother, David (Mary) Lockard, Grandview, MO; stepmother, Juanita Lockard celebrating 104 years, Raymore, MO; grandchildren, Remi, Preston, and Landon Blakesley; ex-husband, Sterling (Linda) Phaklides, Jacksonville, FL; nieces, Lisa (Steve) Griffin, Independence, MO; Christi (Bobby) Johnson, Bixby, OK; Vicki (Jeffrey) Kolesinski, Tolland, CT; nephew, Randy (Sarah) Lockard, Kansas City, MO; cousins, Bobby (Rita) Lockard, Salisbury, MO; Ronnie (Janice) Lockard, Salisbury, MO; great nieces, Madison and Morgan Griffin, Independence, MO; Amanda and Crista Kolesinski, Tolland, CT; great nephews, David and Ryan Lockard, Kansas City, MO; friends, Judy Eisch, Black Creek, WI; Shari McDonald, Athens, GA. Further survived by her pet, Dyna.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margie (Lockard) Dakin, Manchester, CT; special friend, Edward Teletzke, Green Bay, WI.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name at the funeral home to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
