Vernon "Butch" Vande Hei, 61, of Abrams, died unexpectedly on Friday evening, February 15, 2013 at a Green Bay hospital. The son of Rosemary (Vercauteren) Vande Hei and the late Alvin Vande Hei was born December 9, 1951 in Green Bay. He was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1970. Butch was self-employed and was involved in multiple businesses, including real estate. He enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing with his grandchildren. Butch was happiest while working with his heavy equipment. Butch had a colorful way of twisting a phrase.

His family includes his two children, Rob Vande Hei and Cherie (Jon) Cadieux, grandchildren, Nathan and Adam Cadieux, fiancé, Nancy Jensen, Butch's mother, Rosemary Vande Hei, siblings, Alois "Snuffy" (Sandy) Vande Hei, David (Connie) Vande Hei, Janet (Brian) Hart, Julie Vande Hei (special friend, Larry Hamilton), Jeff (Connie) Vande Hei, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin.

Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY , 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday February 19, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Father Jay Fostner, O. Praem., officiating. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the Vande Hei family. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.
