Tomcheck, Xavier "Red"
Xavier Francis "Red" Tomcheck Jr., 80, a lifelong Green Bay resident, passed away January 19, 2014. He was born January 14, 1934, to Xavier and Stella (Radetski) Tomcheck Sr. Red was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Red generously shared his time and talents, helping family, friends, and his neighbors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Known for his strong faith, Red was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish and was devoted to the rosary.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mary Tomcheck; an aunt, Eunice Schrevens; nephews and nieces, Wayne (Ethel) Delfosse, Jeffery (Teresa) Delfosse, Gary (Lori) Delfosse, Brian (Wendi) Tomcheck, Jay (Barb) Tomcheck, Jennifer VandenPlas, Jeffrey (Debra) Tomcheck, and Jim Tomcheck; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles (Monica) and Kenneth Tomcheck; two sisters, Emerdine (Donald) Delfosse and Dawn Tomcheck.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 645 S. Irwin Ave. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Fr. The Tomcheck family extends a special thank you to the EMTs, the Emergency Room staff and everyone at St. Vincent Hospital for the compassionate care of Red during his final hours.
