Van Handel, Mary J.

Mary J. Van Handel, 85, Green Bay, passed away on February 4, 2014. She was born on June 9, 1928 in Green Bay to the late Bernard and Rose (Delfosse) Marshall. She married Jerome "Jerry" Van Handel on June 11, 1960 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Green Bay. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2012. She worked for NTCO Credit Union, which merged with Pioneer Credit Union where she continued working until retirement. Mary volunteered for Bellin School of Nursing and Bellin Psychiatric Center, St. Vincent DePaul and at St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was a lifetime member. Mary enjoyed knitting and sewing and spending time with her grandkids at their sporting events.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann (Steve) Pierquet and Julie (Craig) Jubin both of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew and Nathan Jubin and Breigh and Bryce Pierquet; one sister, Delores (Don) Villenauve; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by three grandchildren, Jacob, Christopher and Holly Jubin.

Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue and will continue on Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Entombment will be in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Mary's name.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tracy Sherman and the staff at Odd Fellows Home and Unity Hospice for their care and support.
