Schauer, Ronald A.

Ronald A. "Ron" Schauer, 72, of Green Bay and the Villages, FL, passed away surrounded by his loving family March 2, 2014, from complications of heart surgery. He was born June 12, 1941, to Werner and LaVern (Romuald) Schauer. Ron graduated from Premontre High School with the Class of 1959. On August 19, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Paque, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. The couple was blessed with 52 years of marriage, four children, and ten grandchildren.

Ron retired from the Green Bay Fire Department as a Battalion Chief in 1996 after a 32 year career and was a member of the Retired Professional Firefighters. He was also Vice-President of the Hansen Dairy Stores. Ron enjoyed his stock market clubs and watching the daily ticker to monitor his investments. His strong faith was very important to him and he was an active member of St. Philip Parish and volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul.

As everyone knows, Ron was an avid Packer fan and proud ticket holder since 1957. He enjoyed all sports, but had a special love for playing baseball and a passion for the game of golf. Ron loved people and enjoyed his Monday morning breakfast with the guys. He enjoyed spending time with his special friends and his family, especially times spent attending the events for his grandchildren and supporting their endeavors. Ron would light up the room with his boisterous voice, his hearty laugh, and his big smile.

He is survived by his wife, Jan; four children and their spouses, Donna and Dean Kerlinske, Ken and Ronda Schauer, Sharon and Todd Madsen, Tim Schauer and his special friend, Rachel Shay; ten grandchildren, Krista and Josh Kerlinske, Brock, Rachel and Max Schauer, Lacey (fiancé, Ben) Henning, Cade and Meg Madsen, Jack and Blaise Schauer; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Larry and Pat Schauer, Nancy Schauer; a step-brother, Lyle (Phyllis) Sconzert; a step-sister, Audrey (Norm) McGarvie; a brother-in-law, Ron (Ann) Paque; three godchildren, Kim DeGroot, Rob Schauer and John Schauer; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Werner Schauer and LaVern Schauer Sconzert; his step-father, Albert Sconzert; and a brother, Daniel Schauer.
