Elaine M. Olson, 76, Green Bay, drifted peacefully into eternal rest Wednesday, March 20, 2014. She was born April 29, 1937, in Algoma to the late Elmer and Marcella (Charles) Lardo. In May of 1954, she married Gerald M. Olson. The couple remained in Algoma where Elaine worked at Algoma Plywoods until 1978 when they moved to Dyckesville to own and operate Olson's Market. After Gerald preceded her in death November 26, 1988, Elaine retired and moved to Green Bay. She was a member of Central Church and went to a Bible study group.
Elaine enjoyed playing cards with her friends, Jeannie, Theresa, and Lorraine. She looked forward to playing dominos, liked feeding and watching the birds, enjoyed reading her Bible, going out to eat, tending to her flower garden, and spending time with her beloved family.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Susan and Paul Beranek, Algoma; Thomas and Kaleen Olson, Algoma; Dawn Olson and Ginger Patnode, De Pere; four grandchildren, Nicole (Kenneth) Schultz, Kristin (Adam) Wonsowicz, Jennifer (Zach) Burgess, Brian (Amanda) Olson; five great-grandchildren, Nikendra, Vincent, Addisyn, Finn, Carson; two sisters, Elizabeth Pinchart, Janice Lehnert; a half-brother, Mark (Mary) Tlachac; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Lila Olson, Carol and Edward Krueger, Marion and David Schultz, Jack and Diane Olson, Judy Olson; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles "Chuck"; a daughter, Cathy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. A Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Cox of Central Church officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Elaine's family extends a special thank you to DaVita Fox River Dialysis, Dr. Tom Smith, Dr. Paul Hudson and Lori, the nursing staff at St. Vincent Hospital, and her personal caregiver, Ginger Patnode.
