Preslaski, Meta K. "Banie"

Meta K. "Banie" Preslaski, 98, Mill Center, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born September 12, 1915, in New Franken to Alois and Barbara (Hemmen) Hettmann.

Banie was a member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish. She was an excellent cook. Banie enjoyed playing cards, especially winning. She also enjoyed going out to eat and was an avid Packer fan. Banie especially cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always greeting each one with a hug and "I love you".

She is survived by her children, Dale and Barbara Preslaski, Joan Van Ess, Keith and Debbie Preslaski; nine grandchildren, Michelle (Todd) Schlosser, Barry (Victoria) Preslaski, Kim (Jim) Peck, Clint (Tracy) Preslaski, Kellie (John) Zey, Jason Van Ess (special friend, Tracy), Nicole (Joe) Berg, Nathan (Tommie) Preslaski, Candice Preslaski; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Banie was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Alvin "Hub", Charles, Edward, Frank and Harold Hettmann; and four sisters, Lucille Preslaski, Hilda (Sheer) Havlovitz, Ida Szhcouny, and infant sister, Marie Hettmann.

Friends may call in the Resurrection Room of the Bishop Wycislo Center at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Madison, from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral with Msgr. James B. Feely officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
