Adams, Ola S.|
Ola S. Adams, age 99, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully with her niece, Brenda, by her side on Friday, April 4, 2014. She was born on December 29, 1914 and lived most of her life in Chicago, Illinois, where she was a teacher and a principal of a local school. She married Ted Adams and they had one son together, Teddy. Ted preceded her in death in 1994. Ola was an avid traveler and had many adventures with her husband, Ted, and in later years with her sister and best friend, Libby.
Ola was involved in numerous volunteer organizations, including the Historical Society of Chicago and E.T.R.B. (educational tape reading for the blind). In 2005, she moved to Green Bay to be closer to relatives. She found an apartment in the same retirement complex as her brother, Adolph. Later, Libby joined them and they spent their last years together.
Ola will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, Jan Mikkelson, Brian (Shirley) Mikkelson, Glenn (Sue) Mikkelson and Karen Adams; great-nieces and great-nephews, Brian (Nicki) Mikkelson and their children, Drew and Zach, Brenda Herold and her children, Bennett and Owen, Nicholas Mikkelson, Glenn E. (Amy) Mikkelson and their children, Ethan and Sydney and Glenn Agiewich, as well as many dear friends and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; her son, Teddy; her brothers, Adolph and Otto Stopen and her sister, Libby Mikkelson.
Through her humor and love, she touched everyone who knew her. We hope Heaven is prepared for Ola and Libby's mischievous reunion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, from 2:00 pm until the funeral service at 4:00 pm with Chaplain Elisabeth Sinclair officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
The family would like to thank the staff at Woodside Manor and also Aurora Hospice, especially Sam, Mary and Sheila for making her final days comfortable.
