Krueger, Dean

Dean C. Krueger, 67, Bellevue resident, died early Tuesday morning April 15, 2014 at his home following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 13, 1947 in Oconto, to the late Clarence and Eileen (Zimmerman) Krueger. Dean was a 1965 graduate of Preble High School and continued his education at the Wisconsin School of Electronics in Madison, graduating in 1967. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1972. Upon his return home he married the former Susan Douville on May 25, 1974 at the church of the Precious Blood in Stephenson, MI. They would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this year. Dean's electrical career began at Green Bay Packaging as an electrical engineer and for the past 30 years was a partner and electrical engineer for VHC Holding Company, primarily VOS Electric. His work was his passion and finally ended with his passing early Tuesday morning. Dean had always enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends and was a member of the Green Bay Yacht Club. He liked warmer climates in the winter and loved to get away with Sue whenever he could.

He is survived by his wife, Sue, and their daughter, Michelle and Paul Gross, Scottsdale, AZ; his sister, Sharon and Steve Keul, Denver, CO; his brother, Dale Krueger and Adrienne Curtis, Stoughton, WI; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Jan Douville, Green Bay; Bob Douville, Ann Arbor, MI; Sharon and Gary Roy, Marquette, MI; nieces and nephews and cousins; Dean's closest friends and confidant, Jim and Chris Christenson.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., and after 9:00 am today (Friday) until time of funeral. Funeral Service 10:30 am today at the Funeral Home with Rev. David Wilkinson officiating. Burial at Brookside Cemetery, Oconto. Online condolences may be sent to Dean's family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral tributes a memorial fund has been established in Dean's name.

Dean's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Green Bay Oncology, Unity Hospice and Home Instead. Their efforts allowed Dean to stay at home during this difficult time. Also, his "family" at VOS Electric and special neighbors; their visits, concern, prayers and compassion will always be remembered.
