Gilson, Gerald "Jerry" E.
Gerald "Jerry" E. Gilson, 72, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife was by his side with her prayers guiding him to heaven. Jerry was born October 25, 1941, to the late Harvey and Harriet (Charneski) Gilson.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from February, 1960 until his discharge in November, 1963. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post #11 for 30 years. On September 25, 1970, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Audrey Flok, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Bay and Jerry was fully welcomed into the Flok family. On March 30, 1974, Jerry and Audrey lovingly welcomed their daughter, Jenny into their hearts. Jenny is her daddy's pride and joy, his little angel and Hollywood star.
Jerry was employed by Dettmen Retreaders which led him to co-own Green Bay Retreading. He retired from Waltco in 2004. Jerry was an avid Packer and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed small game hunting, traveling, and caring for his yard. Although he was a man of few words, when Jerry spoke it was with great wisdom. He was a very kind and generous man.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Audrey and their daughter, Jennifer. He is also survived by his brothers, Dave (Darlene), Dan (Judi); his sisters, Carol (Randy) Spencer, Sandy (Eddie) Barth, Linda Sinclair, Casey Ness; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Gary) Haen, and Beverly (Bud) Schopf; special nieces and nephews, Steve, Stacie, Kelly, Heath, Matthew, Wendy, Cheryl, Jon, Chad, Nicole, Lisa, Stacy, and Aaron; and numerous other family members and friends.
