Nystrom, Carol A. (Mosuch)

Carol A. (Mosuch) Nystrom, age 90, formerly of 2602 School Street, died Friday morning, May 2, 2014 at Northland Lodge in Two Rivers.

Carol was born October 31, 1923 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late William N. and Eva (Durocher) Mosuch. She graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1941. Carol attended St. Therese School of Nursing in Waukegon, IL. On October 4, 1945 she married Kenneth L. Nystrom in Melbourne FL, Navel Air Station. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1994. Carol was a Registered Nurse and was employed with the Two Rivers Community Hospital for 44 years , 27 years as Director of Nursing. She was a member of the Ladies of Holy Redeemer, American Nurses Association, Honorary Member of WI Organizations of Nurse Executives. Carol volunteered at the Two Rivers Hospital, Rogers Street Fishing Village, Two Rivers Historical Society, Woodland Dunes, Visiting Nurses Association and the Ice Age Trail.

Survivors include one daughter: Mary A. Webster, Seymour; one daughter-in-law: Jane Nystrom Short, Madison; five grandchildren: Frank (Christina) Webster, Allen (Lisa) Webster, Katherine Webster, Erikke (Trevor) Nystrom-Grothaus, Tanner Nystrom; nine great-great grandchildren: William Webster, James, Isabella, Caiden, Ada Webster, Makayla Webster, Anikke, Maren, Isadora Grothaus; one sister and brother-in-law: Lois and Norman Gagnon, Oshkosh; and one brother and sister-in-law: William and Eileen Mosuch, Two Rivers. Special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Terry (Oct. 1986); one sister and brother-in-law: Donna and Robert Loeser; two nephews: Butch (Bob) Loeser, Joe Kurth; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Eric and Myrtle Nystrom; and a brother-in-law: Doyle Nystrom.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau. Cremation will follow and Carol will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday evening, May 5, 2014 at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Nightingale Tribute will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
