Elizabeth "Betty" L. Doney, age 89, Green Bay, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 7, 2014. She was born on July 8, 1924 in Green Bay to the late Arthur and Mary (Gothe) Cormier. Betty married Albert Doney on August 30, 1941 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Albert preceded her in death on March 29, 1998.
Betty was a longtime member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, crafts and needlework. Betty loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed time spent at their cottage in Door County and the many visits to Robert's Lake.
Surviving are her two daughters, Elizabeth "Toots" (Don) Herber and Susan Smith; a son, Peter Doney; nine grandchildren, Jeff (Debbie) Herber, Candace Herber (Gary Kinville), Shanan (Bob) Aerts, Tricia Doney, Alison (Ron) Fronsee, April Doney, Holly Smith, Jennifer Welhouse, and Denise (Dan) Conley; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Bries; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Cormier and Rita Cormier. Betty is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law, Ken Smith.
Visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 6:00 pm. Interment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. She will be dearly missed by her granddaughter, Holly and great-granddaughter, Savannah Smith.
