Schuning, O'Delia E.

O'Delia (Dee) E. Schuning passed away peacefully on June 2, 2014 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center following a brief illness.

Dee was born to John and Elizabeth (Yousten) Pimple June 28, 1920 in Almena, WI

She attended the local Catholic grade school graduating in 1933, was a graduate of Turtle Lake High School in 1937, and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Wausau, WI as a registered nurse in 1941.

She married Roland G Schuning son of Elmer and Agnes (McDuff) Schuning in 1944. Three daughters were born and they are: Kathleen Des Jardins (Bill) Green Bay WI, Pamela Pardee (Ric-deceased) and Elizabeth "Betsey" Bauer (Mike-deceased).

Dee remained active in the nursing field until her retirement in 1985. She contributed many hours of volunteer service to community organizations including the American Red Cross and the Center of the Aging in Kent, WA. She was an active member in her church as well as volunteered Grief Counseling.

The family moved to Kent, WA in 1967 where she remained until 1998 when she moved back to Green Bay, WI.

Dee traveled extensively in the Pacific Northwest, the West Coast, and abroad. She enjoyed camping, fishing, oil painting, bread and cake baking.

Preceded in death by her husband Roland G Schuning in 1975, parents John and Elizabeth Pimple, Sister Florence Koenig, Brother Edmund Pimple, Sister in law Winifred Pimple, Brother James Temple and Brother in law John Austin.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Bill) Des Jardins, Pamela Pardee (Ric-deceased) and Elizabeth aka Betsey Bauer (Mike-deceased), 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating.

The family would like to extend a special note of appreciation to the staff @ Aurora Medical Center, Green Bay. Especially the third floor Med/Surgical nursing staff, Dr. Loritz Chavez and Dr's Suzy and Reynaldo Palines for their support and efforts.
