Jane Mary Cherney, 83, longtime resident of Green Bay, died Thursday, June 12, 2014. She was born in Suamico to the late Joseph and Anna Sadowski.

Jane married Raymond Cherney on February 26, 1949, at Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Pulaski. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1997. Jane was a longtime member of St. Jude Parish and had been involved in retail sales for many years. She enjoyed caring for others, feeding birds and animals, and playing bingo and cards.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim (Debbie) Cherney, Thomas (Sue) Cherney, Scott (Janet) Cherney; five grandchildren, Marla, Joel, Aaron, Kevin, Alyssa; three sisters, Virginia Butz, Bernice (Ray) Rukamp, Betty (Leo) Kozloski; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline (Dominic) Buonincontro, Frances Golas Krause and Victor Krause, Loretta (Jan) Koniuszyk, Della Pierner-Elsinger and Almond Elsinger, Frank Butz; and a special friend, Donald Vassar.

The Cherney family sends a special thank you to the entire staff of Woodside Lutheran Home, especially their rehabilitation center, St. Mary's Hospital, and St. Vincent Hospital for their wonderful care and also to her dear friend and neighbor, Phyllis Lautelslager for her help and care.
