Conard, Kenneth

My Dearest Ken Conard, 79, of Green Bay, went to Heaven on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, but first, Ken came home from the hospital to rest in our living room surrounded by family. We all wanted Ken, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa "Papa" to enjoy his home and his beautifully groomed yard that he was so proud of.

Ken was born to Alvin and Odile (DeBroux) Conard on April 24, 1935, in Green Bay. He later married the former Marilyn Phillips on September 3, 1956. Ken went on to enlist in the United States Army from July of 1957 to December of 1957. In August of 1958, Ken started his own company, Ken Conard Construction Company, Inc. He was the president of his company for the next 40 years. When he sold the business to his son Paul, Ken settled into a busy retirement of much-loved yard work. Throughout his life, Ken was a member of the Preble Business Association, the Association of Brown County Home Builders, the Preble Optimist Club, the Knights of Columbus-Council #4505, the Moose Lodge, Amvets Post #11, and the Pazaza Club. Ken was proud of his children, grandchildren, and especially his almost six great-grandchildren. The sixth is due September 12, 2014. Even though our newest isn't here yet, he/she will know what a wonderful Papa he was.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn; his children, Steven Conard (special friend, Kay Heller); David (Ronda) Conard and their children, Matthew and Mitchell; Teresa Eggener and her children, Shelby and Taylor; Lisa (Dan) Jonet and their children, Jessica, Christine and Corey (deceased); Sharon Holl (special friend, Lew Walker) and her children, Portia, Chelsea, and Ty, and their father, Paul Georgia; and Paul (Susie) Conard and their children, Breanna, Brandon, and Nicholas; brothers, Kermit (Carol) Conard, Cletus (Emma) Conard, Lyle (Janice) Conard, and Larry (Bonnie) Conard; sisters, Henrietta "Etta" Deprey, and Patricia "Pat" Heim; and great-grandchildren, Chiane Jonet-Elsner, Nadia Mooren, Kailey Guilette, Dekin Mooren, Alana Ackley, and the expected great-grandchild.

Ken was preceded in death by his grandson, Corey Jonet; parents, Alvin and Odile Conard; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Ella Phillips; sister, Tara (Conard) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Jim Deprey, Norbert Heim, and Lester Johnson Jr.
