Hennig, Richard L. "Dick"

Richard L. "Dick" Hennig, 72, Bellevue, died at home on Friday, July 4, 2014. He was born on August 29, 1941, in Green Bay to Leslie and Lona (Liebhaber) Hennig. Richard was a 1960 graduate of West High School. After graduation Richard joined the United States Navy. On July 3, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Judith Harring, at St. Agnes Catholic Church where they were both charter members. Judith preceded him in death on August 30, 2006.

Dick worked for Dell's Shell, 3M Business Machines and Paper Converting Machine Company. He enjoyed playing softball, especially his position as pitcher as well as playing tennis at Western Racquet. He was a talented woodworker, having made his granddaughter a cradle and a wagon. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughter, Kaitlin. There is a very special spot in his heart for his pals Scooby, Dickens and Oscar, his three beloved dogs.

Richard is survived by his two daughters, Sue and her friend, John Murphy, Green Bay, Lisa Bodde and her husband, Guy, Florida; a granddaughter, Kaitlin Soleski, Janesville; a brother, Peter and his wife, Carol Hennig as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, at church with Rev. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Richard's name.

The Hennig family would like to extend a special thank you to Julie and Frank for being such good friends to Richard over the years.
