Richard E. "Dick" Schluttenhofer, 70, Ashwaubenon, died Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born March 1, 1944, in Lafayette, IN to Cyril "Bill" and Clara (Ream) Schluttenhofer.

Dick grew up in Fowler, IN and furthered his education through Humboldt College and NWTI, obtaining his Associate Degree in Business. He started working for Garrison Trucking and Ringle Trucking in Illinois, which later became Schneider International. Dick moved to Green Bay and continued his career with Schneider International as a Corporate Contract Administrator until one week ago when he chose to begin his Vacation, after celebrating nearly 50 years of work.

His main focus was on work, family, and faith. Dick was a member of Nativity Parish where he faithfully attended mass and volunteered for the parish picnic including the one held this summer. Dick was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7498. Family was extremely important to Dick. He enjoyed taking his grandsons hunting and fishing. Dick loved to instill a love of the outdoors with his gardening, canning, hunting for mushrooms, and fishing. Dick was also a skilled ballroom dancer and enjoyed power walking marathons up to the age of 65.

Dick was a devoted father to his four daughters, Lori Schluttenhofer and her partner, Deb Berg, Wendy Schluttenhofer, Heidi Stichmann, and Kristi and her husband, Aaron Johnson; four grandchildren, Devon and Dominic Stichmann, and Olivia and Evelyn Johnson; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandy Downey, Nikki Anderson, Joann Weaver, Treva and Scott Mitchell; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his devoted feline companion, Ling-Tu.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Walter Downey, Kim Anderson, and Larry Weaver.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. The Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon Tuesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon Tuesday at the church with Rev.
