Waerzeggers, Benedict P. "Ben"

Benedict P. "Ben" Waerzeggers, 90, Green Bay, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born January 28, 1924, in Green Bay to Louis and Thelma (Becker) Waerzeggers.

Ben was in the U.S. Army and served valiantly in the European Theatre, during WWII. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company until his retirement. On May 3, 1947, Ben married Marion L. "Mae" Warner. She preceded him in death on November 4, 1994. He enjoyed life and had a good sense of humor.

Ben is survived by his four children and their spouses, Gary and Sharon, Kathleen and Glen Zastrow, Ronald and Jane, William and Marilyn; grandchildren, Nicole (Jon) Robinson, Nathan (Martha), Nicholas (Nicole), Matthew (Paulette) Zastrow, Jesse (Mary) Zastrow, Kelly (Troy) Smith, Chad (Tonia Anderson), Leah (Chase) Clover, Elizabeth (John) Odea, Maria (David) Sumner, Emily (Maclovio) Vega, Laura (her special friend, Tyler Sorenson), Adam; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Nead; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Waerzeggers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae; his parents; his twin brother, Albert; and brother, Melvin.

Friends may call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray Street, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev.
